Translating the Core Texts of the Longchen Nyingtik

The aim of our project is to translate into English the Core Texts of the Longchen Nyingtik (Nyingtik Tsapö)—all the important texts related to the Longchen Nyingtik, a treasure (terma) cycle in the Tibetan Buddhist tradition revealed by Jigme Lingpa in Central Tibet in the eighteenth century.

Our Purpose

The Longchen Nyingtik is one of the most widely practised and important traditions within the Nyingma school of Tibetan Buddhism. For the authentic Vajrayana tradition to remain in the modern world, one of the preconditions is undoubtedly for committed practitioners to have the texts needed for authentic Vajrayana practice at their disposal. It is therefore extremely important that the Core Texts of the Longchen Nyingtik are translated. Read more about…

Several texts of the Longchen Nyingtik have already been translated and are available on Lotsawa House. New translations made in the context of this project will appear there in the future.

We have thoroughly researched the Core Texts of the Longchen Nyingtik. You can read all about it in our overview.

But research alone is not enough for such a vast undertaking to be successful. We have made a comprehensive plan that outlines how we will proceed in our efforts and have presented it to our spiritual advisers. Read more about it in our plan.

We need your help!

For the Longchen Nyingtik Project to be successful, we are in need of funds with which we can support the translators and editors, make offerings to the Rinpoches, Tulkus, and Khenpos who assist us in the translations, and manage the project. It also enables us to make time available for research, buy books, and other things like maintaining the website.
